Grumpy Old Men: Process of an Animation Exercise
This is my creative process on an old animation exercise. I was working full-time at the time, and had a couple of side projects too; so this was done over a few weeks, mostly before 6:00AM... The Sound is from a film called Grumpy Old Men.

Working in Passes
These videos show the animation passes I went through:
This is mostly about placing the characters and the camera and making sure the composition would work with the acting I’m planning.
This is where I put in the acting ideas. First pass is very broad, then I used another pass to added some subtleties.
Fleshing it out
Here I started taking care of the actual movement. It’s still very preliminary in this pass – you can see a lot of smaller stuff is still missing (mouth sync for example).
